The power of Why

IMG_0087Before you start anything, whether that’s a business, training for a marathon, a change in your diet; start with the question, why? Starting a new journey without a sense of purpose or reasoning, is a sure way to set yourself up for failure. You will be running on that treadmill after countless of hours invested and start to ask yourself, “why am I doing this?” Apple doesn’t dominate their industry without knowing why they do what they do. This is the core reason why their business is so successful. When I’m at lunch eating the same thing I had for the last three weeks, I don’t have to ask myself, “why am I doing this?” Because I know exactly my purpose for doing so. I want to feel better about myself, I want to perform better in the gym, I want more energy so I can keep up with my baby girl and not be able to take her to the park, or play outside because her dad is overweight and doesn’t want to do any of those things because all he does is fill his body with garbage. Use this question as the foundation for all aspects of your life. I want to become a better person to overcome these negative thoughts I struggle with. I want to learn patience so I can better my relationships with my peers, customers, superiors, and most importantly, my better half and our baby girl. Take the time to write these reasons down and go over them daily. Succeed in life by questioning yourself, why.
